Building in Caerphilly: what to know
Planning applications are decided by Caerphilly County Borough Council, under the Welsh planning rules. Building regulations are a separate approval, which we arrange alongside the work.
Caerphilly sits on the South Wales coalfield, and collieries once ringed the basin. Before designing any new foundations we obtain a mining report for the plot, and in some locations the planning application has to include a coal mining risk assessment. In most cases the report simply confirms that ordinary foundations will do, but it has to be checked first.

FAQs
Builders in Caerphilly: your questions
Anything else you want to know, call 029 2264 2498 and ask — we would rather have the conversation than have you guess.
Yes. We are based in Llandough, on the edge of Cardiff, and cover Caerphilly along with Bedwas, Trethomas, Machen, Llanbradach, Abertridwr and Senghenydd.
Yes. A rebuilt wall or a single room is as welcome as an extension. If a job is not practical for us to take on at that distance, we will say so straight away.
Because old coal workings can affect how foundations are designed, and Caerphilly has a long mining history. The report shows what is recorded beneath the plot. It is inexpensive, quick to obtain, and far better read before the design is fixed than after.
Yes, we are fully licensed and insured, giving you peace of mind that your project is in safe and professional hands.
